Sunday School Classes

Sunday School classes for Nursery through High School plus 3 adult classes.

Children's teachers have completed Pennsylvania State clearances and United Methodist Ministry Safe training. Plus Lightstreet has our own Safe Sanctuary policy.

Classes meet from 9:20-10:20 am Sunday mornings:

Nursery, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten: Miss Melanie and Miss Patti, plus assistants Miss Pam and Miss Sue. Meet with them in The Lighthouse, the two rooms directly opposite the stage.

Grades 1-6: Miss Tammy and Miss Delores. Meet with them in the basement classrooms of The Lighthouse.

Junior and Senior High, grades 7-12: John and Andrea Megargell. Their classroom is on the main floor of The Lighthouse on the Monroe Avenue side of the building.

Adult classes welcome everyone interested in delving into the Bible, whether new to the Bible or well-versed in Scripture:

Mrs. Ent's and the Men's Evergreen Bible Class meet together for study in the church building, the ground floor social hall. Leaders Bruce and Patsy Weir, Sue Pensyl, Tom and Pam Traver, have selected a curriculum that is new to them. Faith lessons written by Ray Vander Laan. The curriculum includes a brief video, filmed in the Holy Land, as well as discussion time that is reliant on Scripture, making the discussion both historical and relevant to current events and life situations. Current series is "Faith Lessons on the Life and Ministry of the Messiah."

Back to Basics uses LifeGuide curriculum, which goes line-by-line in the Scriptures. Studying the Four Great Loves of Scripture:  God, God's Word, God's People, God's Purposes.  Led by Chris Klock with Bill Kocher and Beth Snyder as assistants, Scriptures point to both historical accuracy and current relevancy. Back to Basics meets in The Lighthouse, the classroom beside the High School room on the Monroe Avenue side of the building.

Alycia Fairchild has organized a group of like-minded parents who drop their kids at Sunday School. These parents use The Wired Word, taking a topic in the news and learning what Scripture says. Their shared involvement in school, sports, scouts, work, youth group and Sunday School is coalescing this group. Parents and grandparents with school-age children will find kindred minds here.

According to one recent survey, 82% of American Christians admit to never reading the Bible except during church worship services (Ponce Foundation Research Group). Lightstreet offers an opportunity to add just one more hour to your Sunday worship time that is dedicated to the study of God's Word. Let us help you find a group that suits you.
