Sunday School Classes

Children age 3 through grade 4 are learning about Jesus Christ at VBS Thursdays, 6-8 pm.

Middle and High School students are meeting Thursdays, 6-8 pm, to learn 3 Simple Rules of Christian life:  Do no harm.  Do good.  Stay in love with God.  The evenings include whipping up food and playing fun games.

Children's Sunday School classes are suspended for the summer.

Back to Basics (an adult class) continues to meet through the summer.  Come to learn about the Fruit of the Spirit:  Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Kindness, Self-Control.  Sundays, 9:20 am.

Sunday School classes for Nursery through High School plus adult classes.

Children's teachers have completed Pennsylvania State clearances and United Methodist Ministry Safe training. Plus Lightstreet has our own Safe Sanctuary policy.

Classes meet from 9:20-10:20 am Sunday mornings:

Nursery, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten: Miss Melanie and Miss Patti. Meet with them in The Lighthouse, the two rooms directly opposite the stage.

Grades 1-6: Miss Tammy W and Miss Tammy C. Meet with them in the basement classrooms of The Lighthouse.

Junior and Senior High, grades 7-12: John and Andrea Megargell. Their classroom is on the main floor of The Lighthouse on the Monroe Avenue side of the building.

Adult classes welcome everyone interested in delving into the Bible, whether new to the Bible or well-versed in Scripture:

Mrs. Ent's and the Men's Evergreen Bible Class meet together for study in the church building, the ground floor social hall.  Leaders Bruce and Patsy Weir, Sue Pensyl, Tom and Pam Traver, have selected a curriculum that is new to them. Faith lessons written by Ray Vander Laan. The curriculum includes a brief video, filmed in the Holy Land, as well as discussion time that is reliant on Scripture, making the discussion both historical and relevant to current events and life situations. Current series is "Faith Lessons on the Life and Ministry of the Messiah."

Back to Basics uses LifeGuide curriculum, which goes line-by-line in the Scriptures. Led by Chris Klock with Bill Kocher and Beth Snyder as assistants, Scriptures point to both historical accuracy and current relevancy. Back to Basics meets in The Lighthouse, the classroom beside the High School room on the Monroe Avenue side of the building.

According to one recent survey, 82% of American Christians admit to never reading the Bible except during church worship services (Ponce Foundation Research Group). Lightstreet offers an opportunity to add just one more hour to your Sunday worship time that is dedicated to the study of God's Word. Let us help you find a group that suits you.
