Sunday School

Leader: Frank Dent

Lightstreet United Methodist Church holds Sunday School classes every Sunday morning, 9:15 am.

Children's classes are grouped by age and staffed by caring volunteers.  All of our Sunday School volunteers have completed Child Abuse Prevention training and have clearances from the PA State Police and PA Department of Public Welfare.  Classes are available for birth through high school.  Children's classes are located in our multi-purpose building, The Lighthouse, adjacent to the church.

LUMC offers a choice of three adult Sunday School formats:

The International Sunday School lesson is taught to adults by a rotation of teachers, meeting in the social hall of the church building. They are studying Honoring God, both in the Old and New Testaments.

Back to Basics is a class for adults who want to learn about the basics of faith and discipleship.  Beginners as well as seasoned learners who want to get "back to basics" are welcomed.  Discussion is encouraged.  The classroom is located just off the gymnasium in The Lighthouse.   This is a multi-generation class.  People at all life-stages are welcome to join them.  The class has chosen to delve into the book of Ephesians and are loving looking into the ancient church at Ephesis.

Pastor Jenn and Pastor Ron study hard and work to condense their studies into just one sermon.  They have started a Sunday School class that looks at that day's sermon, opening the topics to further discussion and exploration.  This is an opportunity to ask questions and to think about topics and issues that may be related to the sermon and Scripture, but have not been covered within the worship service.  This class is held at 9:15 am on Sunday mornings at the same time as other classes.
