Lightstreet United Methodist Church holds Sunday School classes every Sunday morning, 9:15 am.

There are some special things happening for the summer.  Scroll to the bottom of this posting to see what your class is doing.

Children's classes are grouped by age and staffed by caring volunteers.  All of our Sunday School volunteers have completed Child Abuse Prevention training and have clearances from the PA State Police and PA Department of Public Welfare.  Classes are available for birth through high school.  Children's classes are located in our multi-purpose building, The Lighthouse, adjacent to the church.

LUMC offers a choice of two adult Sunday School formats:

The International Sunday School lesson is taught to adults by a rotation of teachers, meeting in the social hall of the church building. Their current topic is "Justice in the New Testament."  August teaches Paul's lessons about New Life in Christ.

Back to Basics is a class for adults who want to learn about the basics of faith and discipleship.  Beginners as well as seasoned learners who want to get "back to basics" are welcomed.  Discussion is encouraged.  The classroom is located just off the gymnasium in The Lighthouse.   This is a multi-generation class.  People at all life-stages are welcome to join them.  They are currently studying "Heroes of the Faith"; Abraham and Sarah, Noah, Rahab and others listed in Hebrews 11.

Summer Sunday School:

Nursery through Kindergarten classes are meeting with their usual lessons and teachers.

Grades 1-4 are meeting in a Lighthouse basement classroom with Ben Dodge, August 5, 12, 19.

Grades 5-8 are meeting in the Jr. High classroom with Kristin Trenholm, August 5, 12, 19.

Grades 9-12, Back to Basics, Mrs. Ent’s class and the Men’s Evergreen Bible class will follow their regular teachers and lesson schedule.

Sunday, August 26, 9:15 am is Sunday School Class Promotion and Teacher Appreciation.
