Lightstreet United Methodist Church holds Sunday School classes every Sunday morning, 9:15 am.

Children's classes are grouped by age and staffed by caring volunteers.  All of our Sunday School volunteers have completed Child Abuse Prevention training and have clearances from the PA State Police and PA Department of Public Welfare.  Classes are available for birth through high school.  Children's classes are located in our multi-purpose building, The Lighthouse, adjacent to the church.

LUMC offers a choice of two adult Sunday School formats:

The International Sunday School lesson is taught to adults by a rotation of teachers, meeting in the social hall of the church building. Their current topic is "Justice in the New Testament."  June's lessons teach that God Is Just and Merciful.  July's lessons focus on Jesus' Call for Justice and Mercy.  August teaches Paul's lessons about New Life in Christ.

Back to Basics is a class for adults who want to learn about the basics of faith and discipleship.  Beginners as well as seasoned learners who want to get "back to basics" are welcomed.  Discussion is encouraged.  The classroom is located just off the gymnasium in The Lighthouse.   This is a multi-generation class.  People at all life-stages are welcome to join them.  They are currently studying  the life of the prophet Elijah: "Living Securely in an Insecure World."  Terrorism.  Diseases.  Hurricanes.  Every day the news reinforces what we want to forget - we live in an insecure world.  Elijah's times were no safer.  He faced famine, murder and curruption - with both courage and fear.  These studies on his life help us look beyond the insecurity of the world to our sovereign God who reigns forever.
