Leader: Frank Dent

Lightstreet United Methodist Church holds Sunday School classes every Sunday morning, 9:15 am.

Children's classes are grouped by age and staffed by caring volunteers.  All of our Sunday School volunteers have completed Child Abuse Prevention training and have clearances from the PA State Police and PA Department of Public Welfare.  Classes are available for birth through high school.  Children's classes are located in our multi-purpose building, The Lighthouse, adjacent to the church.

LUMC offers a choice of several adult Sunday School formats:

The International Sunday School lesson is taught to adults by a rotation of teachers, meeting in the social hall of the church building. Their current topic is "Faith in Action:  A Living Faith in God:  Self-Controlled, Upright and Godly Faith."  These classes are perfect to learn about Faith in Action, using long-time class participants as role models.

Back to Basics is a class for adults who want to learn about the basics of faith and discipleship.  Beginners as well as seasoned learners who want to get "back to basics" are welcomed.  Discussion is encouraged.  The classroom is located just off the gymnasium in The Lighthouse.   This is a multi-generation class.  People at all life-stages are welcome to join them.  They are currently studying "3 Simple Rules for Christian Living" from a book written by Reuben Job.  What are the 3 Simple Rules?  Spoiler Alert!  Do no harm.  Do good.  Stay in love with God.

Christian Perspectives selects contemporary issues to study.  Scriptures are supplemented by writings of contemporary authors and videos.  Sundays, 9:15 am, meeting in the church lounge, just inside the rear door to the church building.  Bibles provided or bring your favorite.  Their current study is "Anxious for Nothing:  Finging calm in a chaotic world" following curriculum written by Max Lucado.  On the horizon are studies written by Adam Hamilton and Andy Stanley.
