Worship Schedule:  LUMC is not meeting in person at this time for the health and protection of all.  We hope to resume in-person worship before Easter.  We are mailing, emailing and keeping the church website up to date.  www.LightstreetUMC.org

Worship options:

• Printed worship services and the prayer concerns are available via mail.   
• The church website has the same worship services, but the names of prayer concerns are not published. 
• Participate and interact with your congregation before the 9:00 am Zoom.  It’s open about 8:50 am so that people have a chance to greet one another.  Worship recordings are on the church Facebook page. 
• 570-215-3814.  Dial this number to listen to the recording of the worship service. 

Order an Easter flower in memory or honor of a loved one, or maybe for yourself.  Consider purchasing Easter flowers for the Easter worship service.  You may purchase an Easter lily, a tulip or a hyacinth for $10 each. Orders are due Sunday, March 7. The flowers will adorn our worship Easter Sunday and may be taken home after the service.  It’s best to call or email Judy Snyder to be sure to get your order in prior to the deadline.  Mail payment to: LUMC, c/o Judy Snyder, 1640 Main St., Bloomsburg, PA 17815.

 

Upper Room Devotion books for March/April are inside the rear entrance to the church building, just below the mail cubbies.  Large print and regular.  No charge – donations accepted. 

 

The Book Club has chosen to read “Truths I Never Told You” by Kelly Rimmer.  There is a copy of this thought-provoking book in the LUMC library.  Discussion group meets Monday, March 15, 6:00 pm.

• ScripPro gift cards benefit the Building Fund. Links to lists of available cards are on the church website: www.LightstreetUMC.org. Cards for regular shopping, dining and purchases are available.  LUMC liaison: Amy Dent or Pam Szilagyi. Give one day’s notice and pick up your cards at Dent Plumbing & Heating. 
• LUMC designated offerings.  Thank you!  Consider the convenience and security of direct withdrawal from your bank account to the church accounts, as with paying other utilities and bills. Contact Amy Dent. See bi-monthly newsletter for financial reports.
• 
  Junk for Jesus! Pop the ring off soda cans and save for the Ronald McDonald House.  Recycle all other metal.  Place under the fire escape near the rear parking lot.  Please, please do not mix plastics or non-metal recycling or trash with the metal.  While all metals are recyclable, use separate bags or containers for different metals.  Make this profitable venture as easy for Doug as possible.  LUMC liaisons:  Sandy Heim for soda rings; Doug Sitler for all metal recycling.
• LUMC Missions Team carefully selects recipients for designated missions offerings.  Some of the missions funds support the Protestant Campus Ministry of Bloomsburg University.  PCM brings together Christian students so they can support and encourage each other.

• John Buck Memorial Community Food Pantry.  Mail monetary donations to John Buck Memorial Community Food Bank, 2028 State Route 487, Orangeville, PA  17859 or give to LUMC with your offering, earmarked for the food bank.  LUMC liaisons:  Pastor Ron French and Jeff Wolfe. 

 

AA – Al-Anon – Alateen – If you know someone who needs help, help is available.  Be the lifeline. Check websites for contacts, meeting dates and sites, and additional support.  www.aa-intergroup.org.  Do not go it alone.
